The Sacred Ruins

Chapter 433: The Major Fraud

There were many vast ponds near the banks of the Wei River. The great lakes were interconnected and enshrouded in cloudy mists.

Chu Feng’s expression was silent with a serious expression.

Penglai had indeed taken that step. They reacted excessively as soon as they heard news of the pureblood descendants—they had no plans to offer their services, but were instead looking to capture him immediately!

An antiquity had passed by and Penglai no longer possessed the sense of belonging they had in the past. Chu Feng could accept it if they were to react coldly because there was no need for him to dictate how they should act.

The two parties could grow old without any dealings and simply ignore each other’s existence.

That, however, wasn’t the case—the Penglai Remnant race clearly remembered everything. Now that they were claiming themselves to be the orthodox lineage, their reaction after hearing of the pureblood descendants was too frightening. They actually wanted to capture and slaughter him!

This kind of attitude and action were utterly disappointing. Not only did they abandon their past promises, but they even wanted to kill the descendant of their master’s lineage.

Flames of fury erupted in Chu Feng’s chest. He had no good impression of the Penglai remnant race. It was already somewhat obvious from the way that Chen family young master was acting.

Chen Sheng had let his servant drive a chariot over with great arrogance to summon Chu Feng and instructed him to kill the latter should he disobey. How tyrannical and domineering was this?

Presently, they had set themselves up as the orthodox lineage of earth, not because they had forgotten the past, but because they were doing their best to cover it up.

Chu Feng let out a sigh. Some things he never had any intention to demand.

With the passage of the years, everything would eventually change.

Beauties would age, beautiful hair would turn white, and lustrous countenances would lose their shine and wrinkle continuously. Ultimately, one still couldn’t retain youth forever and would grow old. Even the planets would grow dim and, one day, turn to cosmic dust.

That being said, the human heart was even more prone to change.

But the Penglai remnant race was simply too excessive. At most, they could just sever all ties, but they wanted to kill the descendant of the purebloods in order to cement their status as the orthodox lineage!

A mass of hot blood and fury rose in Chu Feng’s heart. He wanted nothing more than to immediately kill his way to the Penglai Immortal Island in the sea.

But he shook his head in the end. Those of different daos shouldn’t scheme against one another. It was best to walk one’s own path!

But with the Penglai remnant race’s mentality, they probably wouldn’t let this be.

If they dared to provoke him again, he would go all out against them and not stop until they were all dead. There was no longer a reason to complain about cold-bloodedness or cruelty—since they had chosen to oppose him and become enemies, all that was left was to fight!

The two Taoists from Penglai were very strong, but among their belongings, only the purple flying boat was not so bad.

Chu Feng’s right hand erupted with light and flames extended out to burn the remains on the ground to ashes. Great winds kicked up with a slight wave of his hand, leaving nothing therein. He then turned and left.

"To the Taoist Capital, Mount Longhu!"

Chu Feng wanted to go to Mount Longhu because that place was incomparably mysterious. Additionally, therein lived a lady of extremely great origins and he had many things he wanted to ask her.

After Chu Feng revealed his movements, it became almost impossible for him to travel in peace.

Various characters came to find him along the way.

As he was traveling towards the southeast, he finally encountered a group of people. They called out loudly and asked him to slow down.

Presently, outer realm beings walking through the famed mountains and great rivers was no longer a strange matter. That was because as the earth recovered and the continental entities evolved, those descenders coming in from the star passages also grew continuously in number.

It was an odd human-shaped entity with a long silver horn growing out of his head. He approached Chu Feng passionately because all outer-realm beings now knew that he was a heaven’s chosen of the natives.

The silver-horned man informed him of his purpose. He was a friend of Huang Tong and had come over to ask Chu Feng to wait. It seemed Huang Tong was trying to catch up from behind, but he simply couldn’t match Chu Feng’s speed.

"You all have one of earth’s communicators right? Have you gotten used to them?" Chu Feng’s different viewpoint stunned the silver horned man.

"We’ve... gotten used to them."

Chu Feng stopped and was in no hurry to leave. He had a favorable impression of Huang Tong. The two bottles of extraterrestrial wine the man had given him were indeed valuable and left a rich aftertaste.

"Brother Chu is truly as fast as lightning. I couldn’t even catch a glimpse of you along the way."

Huang Tong had almost collapsed from exhaustion and was panting wildly with his tongue out like an old yellow dog. He possessed a lion’s face and a man’s body, but his current state was rather comical.

In addition to him, there was also a large group of extraterrestrials who had caught up from behind. All of them were here to see Chu Feng and invite him to meet the experts behind them.

Presently, there were experts overseeing the star passages in the depths of every famed mountain. So much that some exceedingly powerful forces might encounter each other on therein.

"Brother, you’ve long since promised me, but you’ve been standing me up all this time. You look like you’re heading to the Southeast, so please go with me to Mount Lu and meet the golden divine child once."

Huang tong cupped his hands and bowed. His attitude was rather humble as he pleased Chu Feng to give him the honor.

"Brother Huang, no need to be so polite. You’re regarding me as a stranger. Let’s go to Mount Lu and ask for... erm... meet with your golden divine son."

Chu Feng’s spoke so smoothly that he nearly let his words slip.

Recently, he had gained too many benefits after going to Mount Yandang and Mount Hua to meet Yang Shan and Hu Ruoxian.

Right now, he had even begun to view the outer realm divine sons and saintess as children of wealth. [1]

The surrounding descenders were all dumbfounded. "Can we not be so direct? Even if you’re expecting secret treasures, scriptures and the like, can’t you be more tactful about it?"

"Brother Chu, this way please!" Huang Tong was all smiles as he invited Chu Feng to set out.

This large group of entities was of very different shapes and sizes since, after all, they came from different star fields. Moreover, to the current evolvers on earth, they were all great experts.

It would cause a great commotion whenever they moved around.

For instance, a golden elephant caused the land beneath it to collapse. As it happened it could also fly across wide rivers.

"Brother Chu, you have to be wary of that race. They’re truly not simple. Have you heard of the fragrant elephant crossing the river? Once they reach the consummate divine body realm, their bodies will become as white as jade. Entities at their level can cross the river of stars with a single leap. It can be considered a peerless art." Huang Tong spoke from one side.

Chu Feng was flabbergasted. It could be explained in such a manner?! Certain vocabularies on earth were about to be overturned.

"Mn, this race possesses a pure primary divine bloodline and have good relationships with the Bodhisattvas of the Buddhist race. No one dares to provoke them carelessly," Huang Tong informed him.

Presently, these extraterrestrials were becoming increasingly fluent in earth’s language. So much that some people could already quote classics and have no problems with communication.

Chu Feng’s impression of Huang Tong was quite good. The person had led the charge when they went to deal with the Penglai Young Master’s troops on Mount Hua. They had led a large batch of extraterrestrials there and bombarded the place indiscriminately, sending them to heaven with a barrage of energy attacks.

Rumble!

These entities of varying shapes and sizes caused the earth to tremble chaotically as they traversed from Shanxi, through Hubei and soon arrived in Jiangxi, their destination.

Mount Lu, known as one of the ten great mountains of China, was also a member of the three mountains and five peaks. Its fame was boundless.

Presently, there was no more than just one star passage here. There were many passages leading to numerous different galaxies. It could be imagined just how glorious this place used to be in ancient times.

The group entered the mountain with great enthusiasm.

Chu Feng clearly remembered back then, there was an old tree here which bore transformation fruits and was greatly revered by the beast races. Right now, it was no longer here. Rumor had it that it had gone to wander the world together with the red-robed tea tree of Mount Wuyi and the dragon well tea tree of the West Lake.

Chu Feng couldn’t help but reveal an odd expression whenever he thought of this. The famed tea trees of the past had all gained sentience!

The mountains were enshrouded in dense mist and suffused with intense essence energy.

Some peaks rose from the ground and shot straight into the clouds like a divine sword, while others were incomparably majestic and comprised of brown mountain rocks. There were tall old trees thinly spread throughout the mountain as though they were sleeping wild dragons.

And atop some peaks, there were surging mists and prismatic lights. Fragrance filled one’s nostrils and auspicious birds circled through the air, just like an immortal realm.

There were also some areas where majestic arrays of waterfalls hung from thousands of meters high.

The number of beautiful sceneries here didn’t lose out to Mount Huang and could be compared to Mount Yandang.

On the way, Chu Feng could already see, from afar, a folded space wherein converged two star passages. But that wasn’t the place where the golden divine son resided—they had to go further.

"We’re nearly there," Huang Tong introduced.

They finally approached their destination. The scene before them was extremely majestic—the mountains were vast and lustrous, with curls of violet mist, ancient pines, fields of medicinal plants, and numerous silver waterfalls.

"What a big wild duck! It’ll surely be very fragrant when roasted!" Chu Feng pointed in a certain direction.

Near the folded space, atop a peak suffused with flourishing auspicious qi, a great white bird was dancing with great elegance. The place was enshrouded in clouds and emitting a rosy brilliance.

Huang Tong said with some awkwardness, "That’s not a wild duck. It’s the divine son’s maid, the Swan Fairy."

The group around them glanced at Chu Feng, dumbfounded.

As expected, the graceful white swan transformed into a beautiful lady who then descended along a waterfall. She possessed silver hair, a pair of beautiful eyes, and an unaging complexion. She walked over, her bearings graceful and immortal-like.

"Greetings, everyone!" She introduced herself as Bai Qing.

She smiled sweetly with an elegant and gentle demeanor. "Hello Brother Chu, the divine son has been waiting for you for a long time."

Afterwards, she glanced at the large group of descenders and said with an amiable smile, "Everyone, please remain here temporarily."

Even Huang Tong conscientiously halted his steps and said with an embarrassed expression, "Brother Chu, I’ll not be going over. You go and chat with the divine son." Then he winked and said, "his excellency the golden divine son is the most straightforward and is always willing to make friends. If Brother Chu is lacking in rare secret treasures, you can speak to the divine son."

The group revealed odd expressions. Was this fellow siding with outsiders? He seemed to have a close relationship with this native chosen one!

Chu Feng nodded with a faint smile and followed Bai Qing.

"Oh? There are numerous star passages in this area alone?" Chu Feng was astonished. The scenery here was beautiful. The mountainous terrain was glowing faintly and was indeed extraordinary, but the star passages here were too concentrated!

Not far away within the mountainous terrain, a vast and boundless aura was spilling out of the folded space. Clearly, there was a powerful entity overseeing the place.

Chu Feng was astonished because he looked up to see an outrageously beautiful lady. She was a rare beauty on the same level as Lin Naoi and Jiang Luoshen.

He recognized this familiar person. She was actually Princess Lin from the Origin Magnetic Immortal Cave of the North Pole.

Within the folded space, there was a group of people whose auras were powerful and intimidating. One could see at a glance that they were of great origins. There were two leaders among them, one was a young man and the other an elder. They were currently playing chess under an ancient pine tree as people of the same status.

Only the two men were sitting cross-legged while the others were standing at a distance.

Two maids stood near them and were in charge of serving tea.

Princess Lin was also near the front, but she was standing and was not allowed a seat, her expression somewhat respectful.

Chu Feng revealed an odd expression. He had long since known that descenders from both the Daye Pond qilin’s lair or the North Pole’s Origin Magnetic Immortal Cave weren’t the most powerful—they lacked orthodoxies from holy lands and had no people at the divine child level to oversee them. Thus, they had always been looking for a backer like an imperial dynasty of evolvers.

For instance, people like Han Wenze and Huang Weiyue wanted to bring Lin Naoi along to submit to the Imperial Prince Qi Yu of the Great Qi.

Now, it seemed that Qi Lin was also here to make a choice on behalf of some of the Origin Magnetic Immortal Cave members. She seemed to have already made a decision before she came here. It seemed she wanted to submit to this young saint child?

Qi Lin looked up and immediately revealed an astonished expression when she saw Chu Feng. She opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something.

"Hey, mind your own business and just observe." At this time, the young man who was playing chess transmitted telepathically and warned her not to speak unnecessary things.

Princess Lin knew full well that the waters in this place were very deep. She wanted to warn Chu Feng but turned silent after hearing the saint child’s message.

She had once lost a gamble to Chu Feng and thus wanted to remind him, but she had actually received such a warning.

She let out a gentle sigh. So what if this native chosen was powerful and heaven-defying? He still wouldn’t be able to contend with the outer realm divine son. She felt somewhat guilty that she couldn’t warn him, but then she recalled that she wasn’t actively doing him any harm and felt her sense of guilt lessen a fair bit. At the same time, she also felt that she had no choice in this matter.

In short, she didn’t think too highly of Chu Feng. Even if he was the native heaven’s chosen and they shared a certain degree of friendship, she couldn’t recklessly choose to stand on his side.

"Where does that group come from?" Chu Feng asked Bai Qing about the power behind this young man who was playing chess.

"He’s very mysterious and extremely powerful. My guess is that he’s an extremely talented divine son who possesses an exceedingly high status," Bai Qing replied.

Very soon, Chu Feng saw yet another star passage and within its folded space was a young lady smiling sweetly. Her eyes were touching and full of beauty and charm.

But after her smile was withdrawn, she was also suffused with a wisp of baleful intent. This young lady was quite extraordinary, and without a doubt, the troops from this star passage were also extraordinary.

Currently, only the young lady was sitting, surrounded by a group of powerful troops.

To his surprise, Chu Feng also saw the Peacock King and the Nine Lives Cat King here. They were incomparably respectful towards the young lady.

"She should be a saintess of the demon race," Bai Qing informed.

The Peacock King and the Nine-Lives Cat King revealed odd expressions after seeing Chu Feng. However, they said nothing and quietly watched as he strode forward.

Chu Feng frowned and suddenly looked back to find that the path from which he had come was filled with white mist. Everything became mysterious.

"Brother Chu, this way. My master the Hundred Transformations Saint Child has been waiting for a long time." Bai Qing smiled.

Chu Feng’s expression changed as he reached out to grab her, but she shattered into specks of light and disappeared.

"Huang Tong, come out this instant!" Chu Feng shouted.

He knew that there was no so-called golden divine child. It was, instead, a different person.

Huang Tong’s voice was transmitted from afar. "Brother Chu, this matter is my fault entirely. Please forgive me. At this time next year, I’ll burn offerings for you and pour two bottles of the best wine over your grave."

"Get the f*ck out!" Chu Feng was furious. He had never expected that Huang Tong was a major fraud.

But after a moment of calming down, he didn’t feel any fear. Come hell or high water! He would kill them all.
