Zheng Ren was stunned. Access to the Library? What the hell was that?

He had to find a quiet place and take a look.

With this access, if he could see books and periodicals from the future, it would be... Zheng Ren did not dare think about it. He could hear his own heartbeat.

Gao Shaojie had been standing beside the LCD screen in the operating theatre, unnoticed by anyone else.

This was not the best place to watch the surgery but when Su Yun had arrived, he had given his seat up to him.

At first, Gao Shaojie had mistaken Su Yun for a technician. Then, he thought he was a technician who knew emergency treatment. After that, he saw Su Yun and Zheng Ren setting up a table for the surgery.

From then on, he was sure that this was Su Yun, Zheng Ren’s assistant. This was indisputable.

Well, in his heart, Zheng Ren had changed from Chief Zheng to Teacher Zheng Ren. It was very natural and not pretentious at all.

Surgery was just surgery. The more Gao Shaojie looked at it, the more shocked he became.

Zheng Ren had embolized the first group of capillary vascular networks. He was very experienced.

From the fifth minute onward, Gao Shaojie had always thought that the surgery was about to be completed and that he would definitely embolize it there. However, the microtubules that Zheng Ren had selected kept going down until they reached the branch arteries of the capillaries before he began embolization.

Gao Shaojie rarely opened blood vessels by force. There were many disadvantages to doing so.

The most important point was that if the strength of the microtubules exceeded the elastic range of the blood vessels, it would cause them to burst.

In the past, he had never thought that surgery could be done this way.

Teacher Zheng was amazing!

Not only did he know how to perform TIPS surgery, but it was also no wonder that he was ranked first in the national selection for prostate interventional embolization.

Gao Shaojie was now convinced.

When Zheng Ren came out and spoke to Su Yun, Gao Shaojie heard every word.

What did he say? The Nobel Prize in medicine? He was not interested at all.

When he heard the word ‘Nobel’, the blood vessels in Gao Shaojie’s body began to contract as his blood pressure suddenly rose.

What was this? It was the highest honor in the medical world! It was the biggest dream of all those who practiced surgical techniques!

When he heard Zheng Ren’s words, Gao Shaojie sighed from the bottom of his heart. Teacher Zheng was really an extraordinary person. He did not care about this sort of fleeting fame and fortune at all.

However, could someone really not care?

Gao Shaojie shook his head and chased away all these unnecessary thoughts.

After the surgery was done, Professor Rudolf Wagner walked out happily. He gave such a wide smile, the corners of his mouth could almost be seen from the edge of his sterile mask.

“boss, I feel that I’ve made progress!” The professor said anxiously.

It was easier said than done in an effort to refine his techniques.

Especially with the professor’s ‘top’ level of interventional surgery, it was possible that he would never progress any further.

However, this was overcome by his own talent and hard work.

The professor did not expect that he would have a new understanding of the surgery after the boss had used hemostatic forceps to perform half the surgery when he was hungover and in a bad state!

“Well, congratulations,” Zheng Ren said. “You guys can finish up here first. I’ll go to the ward.”

With that, he turned around and left, leaving the silly and smiling Professor Rudolf Wagner in the operating theatre.

The system gave him a strange reward. Zheng Ren wanted to find a quiet place to ponder about it.

However, the professor did not understand. What had he done wrong?

After this surgery, Professor Rudolf Wagner had a new understanding of Zheng Ren’s surgical prowess.

As his own level increased, he clearly knew that his and Zheng Ren’s skill levels were world’s apart.

“What’s wrong, boss?” Professor Rudolf Wagner did not understand Zheng Ren’s coldness. He looked at Su Yun, feeling quite guilty as he asked.

“Lil Fugui, let me tell you.” Su Yun slumped back against his chair and smiled. He looked at the professor and said casually, “After you perform surgery on Professor Mehar, do you want to apply to compete for the Nobel Prize?”

When he mentioned the Nobel Prize, the professor’s facial muscles twitched.

“Your attitude toward Professor Mehar is known by the entire European medical community. You can’t deny it. Just ask and you can find out.” Su Yun did not care how he felt at all, merely asking casually, “If you have something ready-made, the boss won’t fight with you. If you want to use TIPS to apply for the surgery-related information...”

“It’s November now. The application deadline is the thirty-first of January next year. It’s cutting far too close,” the professor said. “I’ve gotten two achievements in the past but I’m not too sure about them, even if Professor Mehar approved them.

“I’m wondering if the boss will agree to my subversive TIPS surgical identification and treatment as a project to report to the Nobel Prize committee.”

“What do you think?”

“The boss is so magnanimous. He has hands that have been kissed by God. How could he not agree?”

“There are articles related to TIPS surgery. Let’s hurry up and publish them. I think the boss should be the first author.”

“Of course!” the professor said without hesitation. Subconsciously, he moved his wrist.

His wrist that had been hit by Zheng Ren’s hemostatic forceps was still in pain.

Gao Shaojie was silent as he secretly left the operating room.

The matter discussed between Su Yun and professor Rudolf Wagner was too grand and far away from The First Affiliated Hospital of Provincial Capital Medical University.

One could not hear too much about this kind of thing or it would turn into fine points.

Gao Shaojie quietly went to the changing room and saw Zheng Ren sitting in the smoking-room. He coughed to make his presence known and said, “Teacher Zheng, are you resting?”

“No, I’m smoking,” Zheng Ren smiled and replied. “Teacher Gao, you’re too polite. Do you smoke?”

“I’ll have a smoke then.” Gao Shaojie did not bother with pretenses. He walked into the small smoking-room and sat opposite Zheng Ren.

“Teacher Gao, I just received a call from Chief Physician Pan. He said that there’s a doctor who can come back to work. Have you finished the preoperative preparations for the patient on your side?” Zheng Ren asked.

Happiness came too suddenly. Gao Shaojie did not know what to say.

Zheng Ren did not rush him. He just smoked quietly.

“It’s... It’s all ready. Teacher Zheng, can... Can I trouble you with something?” Gao Shaojie stuttered. He was very nervous, his face a little pale.

Zheng Ren was very curious. He had to go for the surgery and it was Gao Shaojie’s request. Why was he so nervous?

It was not a bad thing. He did not even want the money. What was there to be nervous about?

“Tell me.” Zheng Ren smiled and tried his best to maintain a gentle attitude to ease Gao Shaojie’s nervousness.

“When you teach me the TIPS surgery, can you not hit me with the hemostatic forceps...”
