Chapter 982 Stealing Your Faith

"P-Please spare me!" A woman screamed in fright as she stared at the terrifying individual before her, one that resembled a beast, with large, sharp fangs. Despite her screams, the individual continued to approach her, proving her resistance futile.

The woman tripped and fell on the hard pavement of the semi-developed town, screaming in the back alleys as the terrifying individual caught up to her and held her at a choke point, squeezing her neck as suddenly, her lifeforce began to slip away from her body.

"N-No…Stop…ple…" Her cries fell on deaf ears and soon lost all signs of struggle. She turned into a wrinkled bag where even her bones seemed to have shrunk in size.

The terrifying individual let out a moan in pleasure as he dropped the bag of bones, watching it collapse to the ground and become dust. He revelled in the pleasure for a few moments before his body began to transform, letting out bone-crunching sounds that seemed painful.

But the individual was obviously masochistic in nature as he enjoyed the pain, soon transforming into the lady whose essence he had just absorbed.

He grunted a little, digesting all the memories that came with it, muttering in distaste, "This woman lives a mockery of life. Damn, I wanted to replace someone with better living conditions. At least, if her husband was somewhat handsome, I would have put up with it. But man, he needs to reincarnate before his appearance could become bearable to stomach."

Muttering a string of expletives following that, the individual took out a brush that she used to sweep up the dust on the floor and poured it into a paper flask. She then casually dumped it in a nearby ditch before making her way home—to the domicile of the one she had killed just now.

The ashes of the original dissolved into the ditch and became unrecognisable.

The woman slowly made her way to her home, entering it when immediately, a chair flew her way, slamming into her face, resulting in a nosebleed.

"You damn woman. Where the heck were you? How long does it take to buy my damn alcohol with my damn money? Huh?" A snobbish drunk man bellowed in anger as he rolled up his sleeves, intending to hit some sense into the woman.

Of course, had that been his original wife, she would have put up with it as usual. But the one that had replaced her wasn\'t his wife, and hence, she had zero reasons to put up with his crap, especially since his charm value was in the negative.

And as a result, true domestic violence ensued forth, resulting in the man\'s cries rivalling that of pigs at the slaughterhouse.

"If I tell you to bark, you bark, understand? Otherwise, your shitty mouth would never receive another drop of alcohol." The woman said, panting in exhaustion as she had beaten her husband into a pulp, realising in excitement, \'I\'m also a sadist. My, oh my, this is wonderful!\'

"Y-Yes," The man said weakly. He wasn\'t a fighter originally. And the only reason the abuse went on was thanks to his wife\'s lack of resistance. But the moment she retaliated, his paper tiger visage vanished.

"Now, I want you to run out and make some money, lots of it. Otherwise…you know the drill." The woman growled as immediately, the man grabbed his work clothes and dashed out of the house, despite it being beyond his shift hours.

He was so frightened by her that he planned to work the night shift too. Unfortunately, he didn\'t wish to sleep on the streets, and hence, he couldn\'t run away. The house was in his name, and hence, he couldn\'t just leave the sole property that belonged to him.

"Let\'s see how much money he has stashed away." Muttering as such, the lady went through the entire house relying upon the memories of the original, muttering once she collected everything, "Huh, It\'s not much. But it should suffice."

She grinned, "He should last a month before his body is unable to endure the insane work stress. Once he falls sick, I can leave him to his death, collate all his wealth in the name of curing his sickness, and make my way out of this place."

"Hmm, I also need to find a better target." She muttered as she stared at her body, "Not only is she weak, but she\'s also not pleasing to the eye. It\'s hard to fight in this untrained body. But well, beggars can\'t be choosers."

She calmly walked out of the house and made her way into a large open square where a crowd had gathered, hearing the sermons of a priest that the people of this town had faith in.

"The God of Rain will bless us another year of harvest. Everyone! As long as your faith is strong, you\'ll never be abandoned by our God!" The priest shouted until his throat ached. His spittle flew everywhere while his face was flushed red from the incessant screaming.

The woman stared at the crowd in disgust, \'They are just brainwashed retards.\'

The reason she had arrived at the place was for an entirely different purpose, smiling as she pulled out a strand of her hair and flicked it once, causing it to resemble a needle as she gently stabbed it into the hand of the person beside her.

Like a leech bite, the target wasn\'t even aware of being stabbed as he was immersed in his prayer. The needle hair began to suck in something from the man as the woman\'s eyes beamed in joy, \'Fuck! It\'s delicious!\'

Had the God of Rains been at the place, they would have observed that the woman was actually sucking in the faith that the man was generating. Even though this was from just one person, it was the faith directed at the God of Rains.

Moreover, unlike Deities, the woman seemed capable of absorbing and storing faith in her body.

She remained there until the sermons concluded before making her leave, content upon having swallowed enough faith until her stomach was full, \'I have enough faith of the God of Rains. This is enough to cast their blessings thrice.\'

"Now, I just need to bide my time until I can replace another individual."
